Sand? Or Just A Thing Of Dirt?!?!?! Sand By Hugh Howey

Sand by Hugh Howey

Certainly a slow start, as sand itself moves sometimes. I was quite leery if I would even be able to get into this story and connect with these people.
It honestly took a few weeks for me to get very far between life and not being drawn into this book... but suddenly the tides changed and I was swept away into this world of sand and sand divers even when I didn't understand what Hugh meant with certain words or phrases. I couldn't tear myself away from knowing what was going to happen.
Beautifully written in irony, idioms, similes, and prose. I was taken aback at how intricate every part of the characters' stories were intertwined with sand. This book ties itself to each character's view point within this post-apocalyptic type of world.
Prepare to be thirsty in this desert world for more!!!

To Save Them? Or To Let Them Go?!?!?!

My Soul To Take by Rachel Vincent

Not exactly what I had been hoping for but I'm into it nonetheless. It felt almost cliche with the whole; young teen finds out they have something different about them.... befriends similar teen.... lalalala.

I pictured Kaylee staying in the psych ward and somehow breaking out and then we learn from there that she is different etc etc. Personally, I'm wondering what happened to the girl she met inside there...that's really when  we realize that there was a paranormal essence to her story. My other pet peeve in this book is that Kaylee refers to her few days in the psych ward as if it were months..... get a grip.

I do however see this series, with slight tweaking becoming a cool TV series like Teen Wolf, or something similar. Not as psychological as I had wished but definitely paranormal so I'll go forward. I would say this book would be geared toward more of the younger teens just getting into paranormal.

To Scream? Or To Try And Keep Quiet?!?!?!

My Soul To Lose- By Rachel Vincent

Intoxicating. I wasn't aware this was a prequel so when it was abruptly over I was left with a heart wrenching need to know what happened. Paranormal and psychological. Two of my favorite things! So I MUST continue into this girl's story. Look for following reviews on this series!

To Know Who You Are? Or Not To?!?!?!

A Different Blue- By Amy Harmon

I'm not quite sure how to start with this one. There were parts that were really good and there were parts that were not so much so. The feeling this story gave me was one of randomness. There wasn't an ebb and flow that you long for in a good book. I wanted to feel swept up into whatever world Amy was sharing with me... however I felt just a step away from or even on the verge of stepping in.
A woman who doesn't know who she is, how old, or where she actually came from... fighting to keep her world from unraveling... sounds so good. And yet a bit of a let down.

A Gift? Or A Waste?! Intangible by J Meyer

Intangible By J. Meyer
A novel of twins, a brother and a sister with special gifts. One a healer. The other a  Seer… sounds enticing right?! Well that’s at least what I had thought before reading it. However a slow  start and confusion in characters dampened my spirits. I wasn’t sure what to expect  but a mix of vampires and elves wasn’t really it.
In the beginning ot almost seemed underdeveloped and I wanted to put  it in the kids  section of the library in my head rather than the young adult. Now hold up before  you just sign this book off of your to read list... As I got further in the book it  seemed to suddenly flow better and the characters were a bit more believable.
Having Lilith the Queen of the Damned suddenly made sense to have her take part in it.I felt the book had switched gears and was finally on track with the vision. There  were still bits and pieces that didn’t add up with the characters or the storyline but i ended up wanting to know what was going to happen next. yes of couuurse…  after I’ve said I wanted to stay away from all these multiple book series it does have  a sequel haha
I would like to read it just to see what happens with the twins and  their gifted entourage. ;)
I will say in a  manner of hesitance it is kiss approved...I only hope book two is a bit more put together when I end up reading it.
